Sue, owner and designer of Big Bad Collars, hails from the northwest and currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, children, and two large (and adorable) bulldogs. When she is not designing collars and other items for her store, she enjoys crafting with her young daughters, cooking amazing meals for family and friends, and is a student of world history and politics, having lived in both Germany and Japan and teaching English as a second language for many years before retiring to become a domestic engineer. Her passion for design comes from her mother, who was a model in her youth and shared her love of creativity, practicality, and the arts with her five children. As Sue puts it, “I grew up in a house where if you can’t find it or can’t afford it, you make it.” This passion, combined with the constant presence of the many loyal four-legged guardians throughout her life (and the inability to find anything fashionable that actually fit them), led Sue to open Big Bad Collars – a company dedicated to bringing high fashion to canines of all sizes as well as matching fashion for the humans in every dog’s life.
